Recommendations

Turn findings into work by reviewing the recommendation queues and recording what you complete.

Recommendations overview

Open Data, Technical or Content in Recommendations. Each queue has its own active count and ranked cards. Data concerns inputs and checks to review; Technical concerns site findings; Content proposes publishing work from measured gaps.

Cards show priority, a summary and available evidence. Some also show affected pages or publication progress. Read the update date and scan or generation notice: existing cards can remain visible while new data is being processed.

Use the category guides for Data, Technical and Content to understand what creates each finding.

Read a recommendation and choose the work

Click a card or its title to open it. Read The problem and the available explanation. Data items link to the relevant setup or review screen. Technical items can include affected pages, instructions and code. Content items include reasons and a publication plan.

The queue shows seven active cards per page. Use the previous/next-page arrows to reach the rest; you do not need to complete a card to reveal later pages. Back to recommendations returns to its queue.

If the work needs an owner and review, create a Task with the finding, source links and completion criteria. Use Campaigns for a coordinated publication plan. Reading a recommendation does not create either record.

Complete, skip or reopen a recommendation

Use Done after completing the work, or Skip when you decide not to do it. Closed items in the current iteration offer Reopen. This restores the item to the active queue.

The current card controls do not include a manual In progress button. A recommendation already in progress can appear at the top of its queue, but its status is separate from a task’s work claim and review.

Completed this iteration is a current-iteration slice, not the full history. Data can show findings resolved by updated inputs. Technical findings no longer detected by an audit disappear from the queue. Content gaps do not become completed work just because a later scan stops detecting them.

A Done or skipped item keeps its working content from being overwritten. Reopening allows it to update again. A later measurement can reopen an older completed Data or Technical finding if the issue recurs.

Confirm a manual site check

Some Data and Technical cards ask for a manual check, such as visually reviewing the homepage social image or checking indexing. Verify the evidence first. For these cards, Done records a positive verdict; Reopen removes that confirmation.

The visual social-image and manual Google/Bing index confirmations are advisory: they do not change SSPS. They differ from recording that you have applied an automatic-check fix, which still needs an audit recheck.

Record a published result

Content’s Done button opens a publication dialog. Add each published URL and choose its role: Original for the main piece, Rewrite for an adaptation, or Cross-link for a linking page. Save the dialog. URLs are optional here, so completing the card without one does not record a publication to track.

For a card with content actions, record each link on its action as you publish. See Content briefs. Publishing takes place on the destination website or channel; these controls record the result.

For the decision between new content, updates and external publication, see Content actions.
