Prompts and categories
Choose the questions used in AI scans and group related questions into categories.
Prompts overview
Open AI visibility → Prompts & answers. A prompt is a question asked of an AI model. Categories group related prompts so you can compare a meaningful set of answers.
Use questions your buyers would ask. Check the selected brand, buyer market and plan limits before adding a large set. A prompt can have no category; it then appears as Uncategorized.
The standard active-prompt/category limits per brand are Free 15/5, Starter 50/10 and Business 300/50. Your company’s usage card shows the actual configuration. Existing items above a revised cap remain accessible; additional creation or activation needs available capacity.
How to add or edit a prompt
- Click Add prompt.
- Enter the question and select a category, or Uncategorized.
- Click Add.
Adding a prompt does not start a scan. Wait for an eligible scheduled scan or use a manual refresh if your allowance permits it. The row’s edit action changes the question without automatically scanning it.
How to generate prompts
Generate prompts requests a batch grounded in your market’s coverage. While generation runs, progress appears on the page. Review the resulting questions and use Undo if you need to remove that batch.
Generation can be blocked by the rate limit, prompt cap or another running batch. If the market is already covered, the page explains that instead of promising more prompts. Market enrichment can run in the background to look for new coverage.
Prompts that name tracked brands are identified separately. Keep those branded questions distinct when interpreting market visibility — see Prompts & answers.
How to organise categories
Categories group related prompts so you can view their results together. The number beside Categories counts categories; the numbers beside individual categories and All categories count prompts. A prompt belongs to one category or stays Uncategorized. Uncategorized is not an “Other” category.
Use the categories selector’s Add category action. Enter a unique name and optional description, then click Create category. Colour is managed from the category menu, rather than the creation form.
Select prompt rows and use Assign category to move them into an existing category, or Create new category to create one. Choose Edit in the category menu to open Edit category. You can change the name, the description or both; saving only the description also confirms that the category was updated. The same menu lets you change colour or delete the category.
Good to know Deleting a category leaves its prompts in place without that category. It does not delete their answers.
How to refresh or delete prompts
Select rows and use Refresh selected to request a manual scan. This consumes the applicable refresh allowance. Changing the model filter above the table only changes the view; it does not select the models used for scans. Use AI models for that.
The row menu’s delete action or Delete selected removes prompts and their answer history after confirmation. This cannot be undone through the app. The current page does not offer a separate archive workflow.
How to review uncovered demand
Search-query themes found through Search Console are reviewed in Market → Real demand. The current prompt page has no separate Suggested tab. Review those themes and your existing coverage before generating more questions.
Read a prompt’s funnel stage
After a scan, the platform classifies the prompt’s buyer stage from its text and available answers. Stages help read awareness, comparison and decision coverage; they are separate from prompt categories and from the sales funnels used by campaigns. If classification is unavailable, the stage remains undetermined and is excluded from stage comparisons. Branded prompts are kept separate in funnel comparisons. See Competitors.
