Source trends

Compare cited domains and citation shares across AI scans, and check external URLs against the latest answers.

Open AI visibility → Source trends. Category and model filters narrow the charts and domain table. Choose 5, 15, 30 or 60 scans to set the history shown.

Points represent measurement scans rather than calendar days. You need successive completed measurements to compare change. On Free, this page shows a feature preview; the history and external-URL tools are unavailable in that preview.

For chart controls and measurement-change markers, see AI trends. For the latest cited pages and source categories, see Sources.

Compare domains and citation shares

The charts show three measures:

  • Unique domains counts distinct cited domains, with a total and a breakdown by assistant.
  • Share of your domains shows the share of citations to your own domains, with a total and a breakdown by assistant.
  • Share of competitor domains shows the total share of citations to tracked competitors’ domains.

Shares use citation counts, not the number of distinct domains. The same domain can be cited by more than one assistant, so adding the assistants’ unique-domain counts does not give the unique total.

Ownership follows the currently registered brand and competitor domains, including when viewing earlier scans. Manually chosen source categories do not redefine these ownership shares.

Find domains that appeared or disappeared

Domains shows citation counts for up to the last four scans within your selected history. Use All, Ours, Competitors or Other to narrow ownership.

The new and gone labels compare the latest point with the preceding point. A gone domain stopped being cited in that comparison; it has not necessarily disappeared from the web. With only one point, there is no measured previous scan to establish a change.

Load more rows when available. The table starts with the most cited domains across the selected history, so it is not a list of every URL the assistants could have accessed.

Check and pin an external URL

External URLs is for pages on other sites. Your own-site pages are in Traffic & results.

  1. Enter the external page URL and, optionally, a label.
  2. Use Check now to check whether that exact URL or only its domain appears in the latest available citations.
  3. Use Pin URL to keep the URL in the list. You can also pin it without checking first.
  4. Use Remove to remove the pin when it is no longer needed.

Owners, admins and members can pin and remove URLs; viewers can check and read the list.

Checks use the latest completed answers to unbranded prompts across the brand, independently of the chart’s category, model and scan-depth filters. Checking does not fetch the page or launch an AI scan. A not-found result means it was not found in those recorded citations. Pinning stores the URL; it does not guarantee a future citation or provide Google traffic data for another site’s domain.
