Sources, trackers and competitors
Check citations, connected analytics and competitor comparisons using the scope of each section.
Sources and competitors slides overview
This block combines citation sources, Google trackers and available competitor analysis. The sections have different data scopes and can be shortened or absent. A missing section is not proof of no sources, visits or competitors.
Read cited domains and the source mix
Source mix groups citation counts by category. Its shares describe citations, not the percentage of distinct domains, despite the slide’s category-share subtitle. The domain ranking shows citation counts per domain, with your site marking owned hosts and remaining counts where the list is shortened.
Sources use the report’s latest completed answers to questions that do not name any tracked brand. Categories incorporate owned sites, tracked competitor sites and saved classification overrides. A citation records an observed reference; it does not prove endorsement or that the page caused a brand mention.
Open Sources for URLs and classification details, or Source trends for changes over measurements. Neither a citation nor its absence establishes the full search process used by an assistant.
Read Google analytics with their own dates
Trackers: GA4 and Search Console shows available Search Console clicks and impressions, GA4 sessions and key events, and relevant AI-related subsets. Comparisons use 28 days ending at each integration’s latest available data date and the preceding 28 days. These dates can differ from the AI scan date and from each other.
Analytics not connected is a connection prompt, rather than a zero-traffic measurement. Missing-period and frozen-sync notices also limit what can be read. Check Integrations and Traffic & results for current data and controls.
Search clicks on pages cited by AI and visits attributed to known AI referrers are different observations. These summaries do not prove that the measured AI answers caused visits or key events.
Compare tracked competitors and category gaps
Tracked competitors ranks your brand alongside tracked competitors from the report’s answer set, including branded questions. You identifies your row. Δ vs you is the competitor’s visibility minus yours in percentage points; it is not change over time.
The category-gap section instead compares shares of answers mentioning each brand in unbranded questions. Its denominator differs from the overall ranking. Several brands can occur in one answer, so shares need not add to 100%.
Use Competitors for the complete comparison and its current filters. The app’s default rolling 30-day comparison can differ from this PDF snapshot. A higher measured visibility is not a product-quality or market-share ranking.
Examine verified source pages and potential competitors
Competitor sources lists cited domains with pages where a brand mention has been verified, using unbranded questions. A listed competitor domain does not establish that your brand is absent from those pages. Check the actual URL and evidence before deciding whether it is a useful publication opportunity.
Potential competitors lists untracked candidates from AI answers, research and onboarding information. Badges identify their origin; answer and prompt counts appear when available. Candidates with answer evidence are still candidates, rather than confirmed tracked competitors. Review their status in the app.
