Campaigns
Use Campaigns to coordinate an idea, its publications and the results you collect after they go live.
Campaigns overview
Open Campaigns. Board shows the campaign stages; List gives a sortable list; Archive holds archived records.
A campaign has shared description and materials, plus separate placements for its publications. The campaign’s stage describes the whole plan. A placement has its own concept, text, publication and results. Work and review use the same Tasks visible on the task board.
Record an idea and start preparation
Use Write down an idea for a short idea, or New campaign to name a campaign and select funnels. Save it with Create. A new campaign starts as an idea, not as active publication work.
Before beginning preparation, select at least one enabled Funnel and write its activator: the first active buyer contact the marketing should support. An idea can be saved before that information exists. The campaign’s About pane lets you update its name, description, owner and eligible funnel selection.
Open its status and take the idea’s work task. Prepare the information and submit the result for the configured review. Accepting the result, or completing with explicitly skipped review, begins Preparation and assigns an SR- number.
Prepare the plan and gather materials
- Write Campaign objective.
- Use Add a placement to choose at least one available channel placement.
- Open every included placement and write Publication outline. Save the documents before submitting the preparation task.
- Review the preparation result. Passing it moves the campaign to Gathering materials.
- Prepare Master material: the draft or full text every placement is adapted from, if you have one, plus the verified facts, sources, quotes and limits. Save it and submit the materials task for review.
Accepting the materials moves the campaign to In progress. Empty required documents block the transition even when review is skipped. Channels supply the available destinations and their format rules; prepare them before adding placements.
Write and review each placement
Open a placement from the campaign. Publication outline explains the intended piece; Publication text contains the content; Results collection plan describes what you plan to measure; Publication results records the outcome. The campaign description and master material are available alongside them: each placement’s text adapts the master material to its channel and language.
Take the placement’s creation task, write and save the text, then submit a result note. The app checks the placement’s error-level format rules before submission/approval. Warnings are shown for the reviewer to assess; they are not automatic acceptance.
The configured reviewer accepts the submitted version or returns it with feedback. Independent review requires a different participant from those who contributed to the result. Accepted content becomes ready for publication. Editing or resubmitting uses the task’s work and review controls rather than dragging the campaign between board columns.
Publish outside the app and record the URL
- Take the placement’s publication task after its content is approved.
- Publish through the destination website or channel.
- Enter the public HTTP(S) URL and use Save publication fact.
- Describe the result and use Finish work. Publication work finishes with the recorded URL; it has no additional review step.
Saving the URL alone does not finish the publication task. The app enforces any earliest-publication slot and requires original publications to be confirmed before dependent rewrites or crosslinks. Recording a publication does not upload the content to its destination.
When every included placement is confirmed published with a URL, the campaign automatically moves to Collecting results. If a placement is no longer needed, use Exclude from campaign and give a reason: it stays in the history but no longer blocks completion. A placement added by mistake and not yet published can be removed entirely with Delete from campaign: it disappears from the campaign with its documents, and its open tasks are cancelled. Deletion cannot be undone; a published placement can only be excluded.
Collect results and close the campaign
Use the results task to write each placement’s Publication results and the shared Campaign results. Include the measurements you have; explain unavailable measurements rather than reporting them as zero. Save the documents and submit the results task.
Accepting the result, or finishing with explicitly skipped review, moves the campaign to Closed. See Source trends and Traffic & results for available citation and Google evidence.
A closed campaign can be archived manually or after the configured interval. Archived ideas can be restored. Cancellation records a reason and is distinct from successfully closing a campaign.
Choose execution and review rules
Owners and admins can open Settings to set who performs each step, who reviews its result and whether review must be independent. Allowed campaign/task overrides are shown by their rule controls. A custom task’s campaign context does not make it a stage task.
Explicitly skipping review removes the verdict step, not the required documents, result note or publication evidence. The repeated-rework setting highlights tasks that need attention; it does not change who may review them.
Keep a recommendation plan in sync
A campaign linked to a recommendation retains its action plan and brief versions. If the recommendation changes, inspect the current actions before using Apply updated plan. Applying the plan does not silently rewrite ongoing placements or their recorded results. One published placement does not complete other included actions. See Content actions.
