Content briefs
Generate a content brief for one action of a Content recommendation to turn it into writing instructions.
Content briefs overview
Open a Content recommendation. Its reasons and evidence explain the opportunity; Content actions lists what to do about it: create new content, update an existing page or publish externally. The plan decides each action’s target page or destination and its format from the measured data. Generating a brief does not write or publish the finished article.
Each brief you generate uses the monthly content-brief allowance. Retrying a failed generation is not charged again. If the allowance is exhausted, the action says so; use the plan/reset options shown by the app.
A card whose actions are not built yet shows Content brief with a note that its actions appear on the next recommendations update, after the next scan. A brief generated for the card earlier stays readable there.
Generate a brief for an action
- Check the action’s reasons and readiness before generating. Resolve missing information through Content actions.
- If the plan chose the wrong page, destination or format, use Clarify decision, enter the correct value and the Reason for this clarification, then Save. Clarifications do not use a brief credit.
- Use Generate brief. You can leave the page while it runs in the background.
- When it is ready, expand Open brief.
If generation did not finish, the action says so and you can retry. When the measured data behind an action changes, its brief is marked Brief is outdated and the button becomes Regenerate brief.
Read the writing instructions
The brief gives the title, what the piece covers and an outline, then Facts to preserve and Claims to avoid where they apply, followed by What to write: a self-contained writing prompt for a person or an AI agent. Check those instructions against your verified source material before writing.
The brief is written in the brand’s working language. The publication language and format come from the action, not from the interface language.
Record the publication
Write and publish through the destination website or channel. Then enter the live link under Published URL on the matching action and choose Save.
Use Skip — won’t publish for an action you will not pursue; it is no longer counted in progress. Return to plan returns it to the plan.
The card’s progress counts the active actions with a recorded link, not articles written or successful AI citations. Finishing the plan and setting the recommendation Done are separate controls; see Recommendations.
Check results after publication
Coordinate writing and review in Tasks, or use Campaigns for a publication workflow with placements and results documents.
Recorded links provide a reference for later measurement. Check Source trends for citation history and Traffic & results for available Google measurements. Indexing, traffic and citations are different observations; there is no guaranteed order or fixed delay between them.
