LLMO (Large Language Model Optimization)

Large Language Model Optimization: improving how a brand and its information are represented in answers from large language models. The term overlaps with GEO and AEO.

Explanation

LLMO is used in discussions of AI search and marketing, including in Japan. Authors may use it differently: GEO emphasizes generated answers, while AEO also includes direct-answer search features.

The practical goal is to make reliable information available and inspect how models describe it. For example, a company can clarify an outdated product description and check whether subsequent answers still repeat it.

A brand mention, recommendation, source citation and website visit are different outcomes. Measure them separately. Updating a page does not directly retrain a model or guarantee a change in its next answer.
