Hyokiyure (表記ゆれ, spelling variants)(hyōki-yure)

Different written forms of the same name, such as キヤノン, キャノン and Canon. Brand measurement needs to recognize valid variants without confusing them with other names.

Explanation

Variants can include Latin and Japanese spellings, abbreviations and former names. A single exact-string search can miss a genuine mention; overly broad matching can count an unrelated word as the brand.

Character normalization can handle some technical differences, but cannot decide that every spelling refers to the same company. Maintain an explicit alias list and check ambiguous examples in context.

Supasaito supports up to 50 aliases per brand. Use aliases for names that should count as mentions; the internal brand label serves a different purpose.
