AI Overviews
AI-generated summaries that Google may show in search results, with links to supporting web pages. They provide another place for people to encounter a brand or its content.
Explanation
AI Overviews can answer a question and help people explore related information. They are not shown for every query, and a supporting link is different from a standard organic ranking.
Google states that its usual SEO practices apply: pages need to be indexed and eligible for a search snippet to appear as supporting links. No special AI markup or additional optimization is required.
Meeting these conditions does not guarantee inclusion. Track citations, brand mentions and resulting visits separately; each describes a different outcome.
